Women's Ministry

First Lady Gwendolyn Young, Ministry Director

Our Mission

The Women's Ministry of the Silas First Baptist Church will have a primary emphasis on meeting the spiritual, social, physical and mental needs of women of all ages. The Ministry will utilize a holistic approach with the Word of God as its foundation in addressing these needs. Women will discover how the Bible can work in real life situations. The Ministry will maintain the vision of unity by teaching the Word of God with simplicity and understanding and thereby making a mark on lives that can not be erased.

The Ministry will promote Christian sisterhood and fellowship. The Ministry will provide educational experiences through workshops, preaching, and teaching as to bring about spiritual maturity and depth among all women of Silas First Baptist Church.

The Ministry will empower women to discover a faith they can call their own. One of which they can ask tough questions and seek answers to discover how faith affects their lives.

The Ministry will recognize and plan with and for specific age groups and structure groups to meet needs more efficiently (i.e. girls, young women, single women, divorced women, widowed, and young married women).

The Ministry will operate as a part of the overall vision of the Silas First Baptist Church under the direction of the Pastor.
